The Cochrane Collaboration is an independent, non profit organization, that helps everyone who is locking for well inform health care decisions. It is one the key instruments for “Evidence Based Medicine” approaches. The name came as a tribute to   Archie Cochrane, a British epidemiologist and Medical Doctor and his pioneer vision, whom during his life (deceased in 1988) insisted in the importance of the Sanitary and Medical Practice based in the best scientific information; “certainly, we can strongly criticize the Medical Profession for not had periodically organize a critic summary about the effects of all the relevant clinical research, by specialty or sub-specialty, and periodically actualized”

Since 1993 the Cochrane Collaboration had being working in preparing, maintaining and promoting the accessibility of systematic reviews of the effects of health care interventions; with a global and comprehensive perspective.
